    •    Previous audit experience.
    •    Must be able to define quality concepts and quality processes, including Six Sigma basics such as design of experiments (DoE), and cost of quality.     •    Must be familiar with statistical terminology and techniques. Must be able to collect data for specific techniques. Must be able to interpret control chart results, process capability, and specification limits.
    •    Must know which measurement and test equipment (M&TE) tools are appropriate for various applications and how to assess tool accuracy and precision. Must understand the concept of calibration standards hierarchy and traceability for M&TE.
    •    Must be able to read and interpret blueprints (drawings), including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). Must understand and apply basic inspection concepts, techniques, and processes. Must be able to understand sampling characteristics, types, and selecting samples from lots. Must be able to identify and segregate nonconforming material and be familiar with the material review process.
    •    Must be able to understand, apply, and communicate various quality audit types and their components, tools, and techniques.
    •    Must understand risk assessment and mitigation. Must be able to apply the elements of corrective and preventive actions, such as root cause analysis, failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), and the control of nonconforming material.
    Preferred Qualifications: 
    •    Certified Quality Technician by American Society for Quality (ASQ)
    •    CMM knowledge along with programming
    •    Customer quality assurance experience.
    •    Knowledge of gear manufacturing, machining, and assembly processes.
    •    Project management experience.
    Job Duties:
    •    Collaborate with Company's customers’ quality and engineering personnel to determine critical part features and review manufacturability of design. Make recommendations to modify customer part specifications and tolerances as necessary to support cost effective production.
    •    Provide engineering support to operations ensuring consistent application of quality techniques
    •    Resolve quality issues of capability, tolerancing, and materials related issues.
    •    Resolve quality issues by identifying problems, examining solution options, implementing action plans, and providing resources.

    The purpose the Supplier Quality Engineer role is to proactively work with our suppliers to ensure we consistently receive high quality materials on time. This includes supplier auditing, supplier development /consultation, and supplier corrective action requests.     o Attends monthly safety trainings
    o Follows lockout/tagout procedures prior to servicing or maintaining any equipment
    o Works with the Safety Manager as required to implement process changes that improve safety in the building
    o Works directly with engineering to understand raw material requirements for new product development (NPD) items
    o Works with inspection team to inspect / document first articles
    o Performs capability analysis (Cp / Cpk) to ensure the supplier and / or internal process will be able to consistently supply us with good product
    o Effectively communicates problem statement to supplier through the use of the supplier corrective action request (SCAR) process and form including all pertinent information (purchase orders, PART numbers, quantities, etc.)

    o Ensures that corrective action(s) stemming from a SCAR are validated in the next visit / audit of the supplier’s operation
    o Works with Production Supervisors and Director of Quality Control and Continuous Improvement to prioritize projects
    o Ensures supplier audit checklist is current and relevant to fabricator certification clauses
    o Creates annual supplier audit schedule based on documented audit frequency parameters and critical supplier list. Groups audits by location to reduce travel requirements
    o Builds effective relationships with key quality personnel at critical suppliers
    o Confirms corrective actions resulting from SCARs have been implemented and sustained
    o Communicates audit reports and supports implementation of corrective action addressing
    observations and findings
    o Supports development and growth and alerts business if a supplier does not have the necessary capability and or capacity to supply current and future demand
    o Confirms that suppliers are complying with the company Policy
    o Maintains all supplier quality standard operating procedures (SOPs), forms, checklists, standard work, and any other associated documentation
    o Creates and maintains quantitative, clear, and achievable metrics that fall inline with the Quality Control and Continuous Improvement Department goals and objectives
    o Maintains, updates, and integrates Cority QMS software at  facilities as required
    o Maintains and presents dashboards, projects, and action item lists relevant to the quality team
    o Support quality inspectors with first article inspection, quality alerts, data analysis, etc.
    o Communicate well with quality inspectors and engineering to ensure everyone is on the same page with internal and supplier changes
    • B.S. in relevant engineering field required (Mechanical, Industrial or Chemical)
    • 3-5 years of experience in supplier quality engineering within a manufacturing environment
    • Hands on experience with an ERP system in a manufacturing environment 
    • Experience with Lean material management
    • Trained Auditor 
    • Ability to travel 1-2 times a month
