Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

  • Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods.
  • Develop and maintain sequence of operations to produce parts in conformance with product drawings and customer specifications.
  • Specify and/or design tooling required to produce parts.
  • Develop and maintain documentation to include CNC programs and operational drawings to give operators information to complete operation/s.
  • Perform as shop liaison to solve manufacturing problems to maintain production schedules.
  • Develop, comply with, and support AS9100D with ISO 9001:2015 procedures and work instructions to maintain company certifications and compliance with customer requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

  • Bachelors of Science in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering is required.
  • Demonstrated mechanical and technical knowledge with the ability to resolve and provide technical solutions in gear manufacturing
  • Experienced in gear nomenclature
  • Ability to inspect all gear requirements and program analytical gear inspection equipment
  • Working knowledge of GDT and CMM inspection methods is preferred
  • CAD software knowledge, Prefer experience in Autocad and Solidworks.
  • Knowledge of work holding applications and gage design
  • 5 years engineering experience in gear manufacturing environment
  • Continuous improvement mindset and/or knowledge of Lean 6 Sigma methodologies
  • Precision machining background is preferred
  • Experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment, strong bias for action
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
